Hair Removal

Are you tired of unwanted hair coming back? Are you looking for a more effective type of treatment? Do you wish there was a more painless treatment than electrolysis and waxing? Then you've come to the right place!

Come and experience the revolution in hair removal treatment. Country Hills Laser can help you remove that unwanted hair in just hours. The laser removal treatment is fast and effective.

In the past, the usual remedies for unwanted hair were plucking, shaving, waxing, or chemical depilatories. Some are painful, some are messy, and all are only temporary.

For long-term hair removal, electrolysis is popular and effective but can be painful and slow. But now there's a more effective solution, the laser state-of-the-art system specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, less painfully, and more reliably than electrolysis

Understanding laser treatment
A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of lasers produce different colors of light. The color of light produced by a laser is the key to its effect on hair follicles.

The light emitted by the laser is absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's re-growth.

Importantly, the laser's special contact-cooling hand piece is perfect for a woman's sensitive skin. It directs the laser energy to the hair root while protecting and cooling the surrounding skin.

What system does Country Hills Laser Center use for Laser Hair Removal?

We use the LightSheer Diode XC Laser system, which is specifically designed for Laser Hair Removal. We have chosen the LightSheer Diode XC Laser because of the extensive clinical and basic scientific research, which demonstrated its effectiveness for permanent hair reduction. The LightSheer Diode XC Laser is the only FDA approved laser system that can safely treat a broader range of skin tones including patients with darker complexion.

How does the laser system work in removing hair?

The laser beam penetrates the skin and gets absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles and shafts. The laser energy is converted into heat which results in damage to the hair follicles. This damage causes delayed re-growth of the hair, and in most cases permanent destruction of many of the hair follicles. This system works by disabling hair that is in the active phase at the time of treatment. Hair grows in cycles. Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time. They go through three different stages: growth, regression and resting. Hairs in the resting stage are not affected. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes. The LightSheer Diode XC system is computer guided and has an actively cooled sapphire handpiece which is designed to protect the skin during the procedure to protect the skin. The doctor will apply a thin coat of gel over the area to be treated and the laser pulses are applied quickly and evenly.

Does the Laser hair removal procedure hurt?

The LightSheer Diode XC Laser has a cooling system which reduces the discomfort as it has a mild anesthetic property. You may feel a tingling or stinging sensation during treatment, but most people tolerate the procedure well. If you find the treatment uncomfortable, we can apply a numbing cream prior to the procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required will depend on your skin type, hair color, family ancestry, texture of the hair, age, body site and hair density. Dr. Yatar and his staff will be happy to discuss this with you on your first free consultation. Our staff will work with you to develop the best program to achieve your objectives and goals. Some patients may require 3 - 4 treatments to obtain permanent hair reduction, while others, may need more treatments.

What happens after treatment?

Within several minutes, the treated areas may be slightly red and puffy. This usually goes away after 24 hours. Applying cold compresses on the treated areas and a hydrocortisone cream will cause these changes to disappear faster. You may see "goose bumps" with tiny crusted areas, which are burnt hair, on the treated areas. These changes will go away without leaving any permanent damage. Sometimes, the skin may scab, but you don't have worry as the scabs go away within a few days. Sometimes, you may notice some hair growing back after the procedure; these are hair shafts that are being shed off and have hair follicles that are disabled. They usually don't grow back.
